🕐 New Product Ideas
A missing coat hook in our first California led to my invention of the well-known hooks for the pop-up roof, our ABHÄNG.
Why drill into your bus? From my incomprehension of this and the limited headroom under the market roof cabinets, our EINFACH was born.
Every idea matures between my own ears, from actual need and missing solutions.
🕑 Thoughtful Product Design
Initial sketches turn into prototypes made of cardboard.
Once I'm convinced, I construct it using CAD, based on the already specific dimensions.
The design is then implemented and tested with 3D printing, on the sewing machine, or in the workshop.
In the refinement process, I remove unnecessary parts from the design.

Nicole and I take new accessories on tour directly with our bumblebee (aka T6 California Beach).
Is a contour not perfect, or is a feature not used while camping?
If so, it gets adjusted and tested again. And possibly again...
Only what convinces us over a season and proves its value gets produced.

More than just a folding bowl:
SCHÜSSELIG is a carrier bag for dishes etc., open stretcher for wood, folding bucket, changing mat, picnic blanket, seat pad, bowl, washbasin ...
All in One
No other folding tray offers more possibilities with the smallest pack size:
With - folded - 27 x 27 x 2 cm (dimension including rods, without even smaller packable!) it fits in the boxes underneath the three-seater bench seat in the VW Multivan and Cali Beach as well as in the sink of VW California Ocean, Coast and Comfortline. It fits just as well in the backpack for camping and, at around 400 g, does not weigh much.
Even unfilled, it stands stably and without additional seams for use as a washbasin.
When filled, the folding bowl holds 9 litres (26 x 26 x 16 cm) - enough for washing dishes. Individually opening sides allow it to be used as a transport bag for the family dishes to the washing area as well as a carrier for firewood or - once fully open - as a base for changing nappies, seat protection on the forest floor, etc.
We have made sure that the straps are long enough to carry the bowl easily with one hand. The two carrying straps are comfortably wide and pleasantly soft. This means that even longer, heavier transports - e.g. for firewood - remain manageable. The logo loop provides a safe place for your car key or coffee pot on the way.
On each of the four long sides there is an additional reinforcing rod. Each can be removed individually, making the folding bowl even smaller. By replacing it with a longer rod, SCHÜSSELIG can then be easily attached to the camping table or camping chair; e.g. for cuttings during meal preparation, nut shells, rubbish in the motorhome or similar. There is also room here for other accessories ...
The extremely sturdy tarpaulin fabric is easy to clean: Simply rinse or wipe, done.
