Organise your California pop-up roof with our storage net for your camping utensils.

Where to put it in the pop-up roof?

Where do you put the book you want to read before you go to sleep?
Where are your wallet and keys safe at night?
The mobile phone / tablet / Kindle ... slips off the narrow shelf in the pop-up roof.
Where won't it fall off?

The storage space in the pop-up roof is limited in the VW California.
Rigid supports obstruct the already narrow descent and ascent or make for artistic interludes at night. The partner is thrilled ...
At the latest with an insulating inner tent, it becomes difficult to close the roof with such supports.

The solution: put it in the storage net.

The PLATZDA storage net creates ~100 x 40 cm of storage space under the roof lining in the pop-up roof of the VW California Beach, Ocean, Coast and Comfortline.
Camping utensils, smartphone, torch, e-reader, ... you can now organise them safely in the storage net and have them within easy reach at all times.

The utensil net for your campervan is installed in no time at all.
Simply use the existing lashing points in the pop-up roof of the T5, T6 and T6.1 California.
No additional drilling, gluing, screwing or similar is necessary - absolutely suitable for leasing!

The material of the storage net has a high abrasion resistance and does not deform even after prolonged use.
Within the wide border, the net keeps deposited objects safe and on top, so the entry height is hardly reduced and nobody bumps their head.
The stowage net has a sturdy mesh fabric that won't bend, even with your open bunch of keys on top.

Sophisticated details for the VW California pop-up roof

We searched for a long time. We didn't want any more enclosed flyscreens, nor did we want a black and incongruous stain in the light-coloured roof lining and to be able to use the lighting at night without it being dimmed when reading.

The search was worthwhile! We found a friendly, bright and well-fitting mesh fabric with a mesh size that also leaves the LED lighting usable.
Instead of a non-changeable rubber band, which made the edge unsightly, the edges of the storage net are now straight and tightly edged all around. The storage net is now attached directly to the pop-up roof with four individual HQ rubber ropes. This means less material is wasted and the rubbers can be replaced, e.g. with ones in a different colour.

Made by campers for campers, this has of course also been thought of:

Super-flat and located inside the bedding, the pop-up roof from the California also closes with the storage net fitted as before, even with an extra insulating inner tent, e.g. for autumn and winter camping.

The scope of delivery includes a storage net and the fastenings for the lashing eyes in the pop-up roof.

The picture gallery shows the utensil net in use on the headliner of the pop-up roof in the VW California.

🕐 New Product Ideas

A missing coat hook in our first California led to my invention: THE well-known hook for the pop-up roof, our ABHÄNG.

Why drill into your bus? From my incomprehension of this and the limited headroom under the existing roof cabinets, our EINFACH was born.

Every idea matures between my own ears, from actual need and missing solutions.

🕑 Thoughtful Product Design

Initial sketches turn into prototypes.

Once I'm convinced, I construct it using CAD, based on the already specific dimensions.

The design is then implemented with 3D printing and in the workshop, then being tested.

In the refinement process, I remove unnecessary parts from the design.

🕒Tested in Camping Life

Nicole and I take new accessories on tour directly with our bumblebee (aka T6 California Beach).

Is a contour not perfect, or is a feature not used while camping?

If so, it gets adjusted and tested again. And possibly again...

Only what convinces us over a season and proves its value gets produced.

🕓 Made in Northern Germany

We found our production partners within a few kilometers of us.

Small series' production ensures fast adjustments, even with your suggestions.
