Awning Crank Holder VW California
Finally, a dedicated place for the awning crank, always within reach and out of the way.
The crank is securely held in place by its own locking mechanism.
The integrated spring keeps the system in place, even with the roof raised. No tools, screws, or glue needed.
Thanks to the minimal profile design, the bed mechanism remains unaffected.
The automotive plastic also connects elements of the VW rear carrier: Shatterproof injection molding.

FAQ - Your mostly asked questions on the VW California awning crank holder
Does it also fit in SCA, Reimo, or other retrofit roofs?
Only the original VW California pop-up roof from the factory allows the hooks to be attached.
Unfortunately, it does not fit other manufacturers.
Does the crank stay in place even with the bed raised?
Yes. The spring element at the end of the hook keeps it securely in place, even when you fold up the bed above it.
The crank holder is 3D-printed?
We have been using 3D printing for prototypes since 2013.
For consistently high quality and product safety, the item is injection-molded, UV-stabilized, and shatterproof.
The locking mechanism for the crank is laser-cut and made from the same plastic.
Where is it made?
All products are self-developed, personally used by us, and 100% practical.
Since 2016, our bus essentials are locally manufactured in Northern Germany. You can count on it 🤝
Three solutions in one!
You drive a T5, T6 or T6.1 California and have no idea where to put the bulky awning crank?
On the KURBELIX cali hooks, the crank finds a great place - secured for transport (onroad as well as offroad!) - and also serves as a clothes rail or clothes hook: Safe? Safe!
You secure the awning crank on the hook with a specially made, sturdy safety slide.
This keeps the crank secured during transport, on- and off-road.
The thing with the ring
The extra eyelet below the second cali hook can be used for carabiners, extra loops, etc. to hang shopping bags, keys, etc. from.
... one more ...
Whether in the VW California Beach Camper, Beach Tour, Ocan, Coast or Comfortline - with KURBELIX you have more space in the drawer under the sleeping bench or you no longer have to search for a suitable place to store your clothes. And an extra clothes rail on the passenger side for towels, jackets, etc. is also included.
That's how it works
The bed height remains unaffected, both plastic hooks in the set can remain in place when the roof is closed and are then held in place by the bed lying on top. The awning crank can be removed upwards from the hooks at any time(!). It is firmly locked in place while the awning is in motion. When the roof is up and the bed is raised, you can simply move it, e.g. to move jackets hanging on it in front of the door from the front to the back or, for example, to shade the sliding door windows with a towel or ... :]

🕐 New Product Ideas
A missing coat hook in our first California led to my invention: THE well-known hook for the pop-up roof, our ABHÄNG.
Why drill into your bus? From my incomprehension of this and the limited headroom under the existing roof cabinets, our EINFACH was born.
Every idea matures between my own ears, from actual need and missing solutions.
🕑 Thoughtful Product Design
Initial sketches turn into prototypes.
Once I'm convinced, I construct it using CAD, based on the already specific dimensions.
The design is then implemented with 3D printing and in the workshop, then being tested.
In the refinement process, I remove unnecessary parts from the design.
🕒Tested in Camping Life
Nicole and I take new accessories on tour directly with our bumblebee (aka T6 California Beach).
Is a contour not perfect, or is a feature not used while camping?
If so, it gets adjusted and tested again. And possibly again...
Only what convinces us over a season and proves its value gets produced.
